Ege Banaz – Clarinetist
Ege Banaz born in 1991 December in Izmir, as a child of a musician family. He began his clarinet education in 2006 in Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory as a student of Lecture Member Ender Gülenler. After completed his university education 2 years in advance, Ege Banaz completed his master degree education, that he was accepted in 2011, studying clarinet with Prof. Thomas Lindhorst and conducting with Prof. Joachim Harder at Hochschule für Musik Detmold. After completing the Artist Diploma studies as the youngest student in Detmold, he is continuing Master of Music Chamber Music degree at Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Prof.Thomas Lindhorst.
Ege Banaz, the winner of the 1st Prize at GWK Music Prizes, Marsyas International Clarinet Competition and the 3rd Prize at Chamber Music Competition of GFF Association, is performing as soloist, recitals, on-stage performances, chamber music concerts with his groups “Clarino Royal” and “Trio DAE”, various orchestra and academies, and his arrangements for various instruments are also being played.
He made his debut as a soloist when he was 17. Since then he performed solo with Paderborn Hochschulorchester, Collegium Musicum Bielefeld, Eskisehir Symphony Orchestra, Izmir State Symphony Orchestra, Izmir Youth Symphony Orchestra and Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory Orcestra. He played as soloist in a concert titled “The Young Virtuoses” held by “Rencontres Musicales Internationales Des Graves” Festival in Bordeaux ,France.
Since the first year he began playing clarinet, Ege Banaz played as solo clarinetist and E-flat clarinetist in the orcestras such as Munster Symhpony Orchestra, Izmir State Symphonic Orchestra, Animato Philarmonic, Dogus Kids Orchestra, National Youth Symphony Orchestra, Turkey Youth Philarmonic Orchestra, University of Minnesota Duluth Wind Band, Twin Ports Wind Ensemble, Bremen International Youth Symphony Orchestra and World Peace Orchestra. He performed in concerts in the prestigious concert halls of Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum, Istanbul, Ankara, Samsun, Mersin, Adana, Munich, Basel, Bremen, Duluth, Amstetten, Bratislava, Graz, Bern, Berlin, Amsterdam, The Hague, Brussels, Prague, Vienna, Bonn and New York. He was invited by Sinfonieorchester Münster, Neue Westfalischen Orchester, Izmir State Symphony Orchestra as guest player.
During his education, he studied clarinet, chamber music and attended to masterclasses of teachers such as Arno Piters, Wenzel Fuchs, Charles Neidich,Martina Beck, Jürgen Key, Martin Bewersdorff, Mark Nuccio, Anthony McGill, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Fazıl Say, Güher-Süher Pekinel, Yves Sévère, Guy Dangain, Hans Dietrich Klaus, Sharon Kam, Andy Miles, Reto Bieri and many more.
Ege Banaz, is a GWK Prize holder and was a member of the “Young Musicians on World Stages” system, mentored by Güher & Süher Pekinel. Within this system, he has played numerous concerts from 2009 till 2014 and an album released containing F.Mendelssohn’s Concert Piece no:2 for Two Clarinets that he performed in these concerts.
