Barok Bostancı – Violist
Barok Bostancı was born in Ankara in 1998. He began his musical education playing the piano with Valentina Samuela when he was 6 years old. In 2008, he started playing viola at the State Conservatory of Akdeniz University in Antalya. In 2012, he was admitted to the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University for highschool education. During his education, he studied with Elena Gnezdilova, who is a member of the Bilkent Senfoni Orchestra. In 2016, he became student of Julia Gartemann, at the Hochschule für Music Hanns Eisler Berlin, who is a member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently working on his master studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music.
He studied with Ruşen Güneş in 2015 and with Marco Misciagna at the AIMA Music Academy in 2016. He performed at Bilkent Chamber Music Days, AIMA Music Festival and as a soloist with Bilkent Symphony Orchestra and gave chamber music concerts within the “Young Musicians on World Stages” system, with Parantez Quartet at Bilkent Music Days and Bodrum Music Festival. He has had the opportunity to work on solo and chamber music repertoire with prominent musicians such as Alexander Zemtzov, Stephan Fork, Tabea Zimmermann and Jens Peter Mainz.
Bostancı is a member of the “Young Musicians on World Stages” system since 2019.
